IAR specialises in comprehensive sterilisation and inoculation programmes for stray dogs and cats, particularly in developing countries. IAR have offices in the UK and the US and ongoing projects in India, Indonesia and Malta. IAR works to educate the public on the compassionate and humane treatment of all animals. IAR use sound scientific evidence to inform our decisions and determine the course of our rescue operations. In all that we do we aim to find lasting solutions that benefit both animals and people.

First you kill its mother...
Then the cruelty really begins.

A dancing bear is a sloth bear that has been poached from the wild as a tiny cub.

The cub’s teeth and claws are pulled out one by one.

The red hot poker burns through the bear’s sensitive nostrils.

The rope rubs incessantly against a never healing wound.

But now a better life is possible for these bears.

You can help us cut a bear free.
